Mr. Phillips was shocked to come home one day and find Missy Bean with a broken leg. She's an active girl from the shelter who has incredible jumping abilities and can even get onto countertops. She must have climbed up and jumped off something and the impact broke her spindly leg just above the paw. He took Missy Bean to the vet and found out that the break needed a $1,700 surgery to install a plate and pins in order for the leg to heal properly. For a senior on a fixed income, that's a tall order on short notice. So Mr. Phillips was able to get some aid from our Animal Relief Fund, which helps with emergency, quality-of-life and preventive veterinary care.
