Happy New Year from the
Doña Ana County Humane Society!
2018 was a great year and we wanted to recap the year with all the pets & people we were able to help this year!
Animal Relief Fund
We helped the pets of 273 low-income families though our Animal Relief Program. This program provides financial aid to help qualifying Doña Ana County pet owners with veterinary care, helping to prevent animal suffering and allowing pet owners to keep their animals rather than surrendering them to the animal shelter because they can't afford veterinary care. Many thanks to the support we receive from PetSmart Charities!
Ruff To Ready
Our trainer gave free behavior training to 31 dogs in 2018 though our Ruff to Ready Program! Some are shelter dogs that are in their new homes; others are dogs with behavior problems that were in danger of being surrendered to the shelter.
Pets For Seniors
In 2018 we issued 59 vouchers that take $50 off the cost of adopting a shelter pet for people age 60 and over though our Pets for Seniors Program! Many thanks to the Pets for the Elderly foundation for making this possible.
